These pieces of jewelry were created in commemoration of the deceased and carried emotional and symbolic meaning. Jet was one of the most popular materials used, due to its dark color.
The necklaces pendant is engraved with a high relief of a bungle of grapes and grape leaves. Grapes have a number of symbolism such as divine blessings and sacrifice. The pendant has a teardrop shape and is tied with a black ribbon.
 
The earring is circular in shape. The cuts surrounding the rim almost resemble a round diamond cut. The post on the back of the earring is a clip on and is engraved with “Made In Western Germany”.
The last object is a shoe buckle. The jet is in a diamond shape pattern, creating two registers of repeated pattern. Each piece of jet is cut in a way that when light catches it, the pieces shine beautifully. 
 
The ribbon of the necklace is fraying. The pieces are in good condition.
