The "Senufo Heddle Pulley Head Hand Carved Fish" is a unique African ethnographic antique item depicting some type of animal, hand-carved out of wood. This sculpture or statue was likely used as a heddle pulley in traditional weaving practices of the Senufo people. They were typically used in pairs and are used to strip-weave long pieces of cloth. The heddle would lift alternate warp threads so that the weft thread could pass between. The Senufo people are a West African ethnolinguistic group, who mainly occupy the Ivory Coast.

The piece is in good condition with some signs of wear.
