A very nice pair of 19th Century Chinese carved wood architectural temple doorway corners. One side of each depicts foo dogs/lion dogs that are guardians of the temple. They are carved with snarling expressions and swirling manes and tails among the branches, flowers and leaves and painted with red, green and black polychrome colors. The other side of each corner depicts swirling vegetation branches flowers and leaves, painted in bright polychrome red and green colors. 
 
The corners are in good condition with some cracking and paint loss due to age and environmental factors.
