This limoges-topped bronze compact is beautiful example of mid-19th century French craftsmanship! The hinged top features a hand-pained portrait of a woman on porcelain. The compact is decorated with several materials including faux pearls, filigree glass, and enamel paint in blue, green and white. The exterior and interior walls and bottom of the box feature geometric, aviary, and floral motifs. The hinges are in good working condition and the mirror is in very good antique condition. It is stamped "Made in France" on the inside edge of the top.
