This is a set of 12 hand-painted ceramic plates from Japan. During the Meiji period elite house holds took on Victorian-Western influences. Exhibiting the traditional blue glaze coloring, each plate shows a scene of cherry blossom trees, and a small village in a wooded area surrounded with mountainous terrain. In the middle of the plates, a floral pattern is present followed by the artist signature on the bottom of the plate. These are a special set because they are hand-painted with the same scene on each plate. But if you look closely at the plates they are all unique and minorly different because of the artist.

The plates are in good condition with some scratches on the surface.
