A very nice antique original, hand colored page illustration, Plate 24 engraving, entitled "Apis Ligustica", "Honey Bees". Its from the book "The Natural History of Bees" one of the 40 volumes from The Naturalist's Library, by Sir William Jardine, edited and published by WH Lizars, Edinburgh, in the 1830's and 1840's. This illustration is an original engraved page from the book that has been hand colored with watercolors. 
 
The paper shows yellowing along the edges and wear due to age.
