Chuspa is a pouch used to carry coca leaves. Coca leaves were often chewed on to satiate hunger and provide energy. The bags were predominantly made on backstrap looms with handspun wool. Designs and color vary depending on the region, village, and century but the basic structure is the same. Coca also has a spiritual role. They were taken during ceremonies and given as offerings to the gods.

This Chuspa is made of wool. The bag is square in shape, with red and blue being the two main colors. The front and back of the bag have different patterns, with common diamond repeated shapes.

The piece is in good condition with slight fraying. The bag most likely had straps at one point.
